Hi again,
I forgot to add, I had to up my trazadone for full affects, it was a big
differaece. I was taking 100mg and I am now taking 150mg at night. I feel great through out the day and sleep like a baby at night, I really wish I would have found this along time ago. I am really living life again!

Hi, I can relate to these posts and just wanted to say, I have tryed many many differents medications throughout my life for sleep and anxiety wich sucks, and just started trazadone about a month ago and it has been working really good so far, unlike xanax and valium because I always felt like I needed more a more of thoose. I also found out through research docters are not pushing trazadone as much any more because they dont get paid for it. Interesting.

Because Trazodone has more harmful adverse effects than the two antidepressants desipramine and nortriptyline, we consider it to be of limited use to older adults

I did ask him, and he said that while 30 mg isn't common, it's safe and necessary for some patients. A friend of mine with a different psychiatrist was told the same thing. 30 mg didn't work out for her either.

I am feeling a bit better--gonna post an update right now!

Hi there!

I haven't been on Lexapro for over a year, but I took it for about a year. It was one of the medications I took for the longest time (well, one of the antidepressants I took for the longest time). I remember my pdoc mentioning that people usually took up to 20 mg, and never any more. I see that your pdoc gave you 30 mg? Isn't it strange how one doctor always says something different from the next doctor? Did you ask him if taking 30 mg is common? It's all very confusing, isn't it? I hope you are feeling better.
